I am planning a suprise romantic trip the last week of February 2008 for my boyfriend and I. We are staying at the Beaver Lakefront Cabins and have the following on our list of things to do: ThornCrown, HaHa Tonka, Christ of the Ozarks, Stone Hill Winery, Table Rock Dam, Pivot Rock, Eureka Springs Gardens and the Railway.
We will be staying for 3 nights. I am looking for ideas of things that are a must see, as I%26#39;m sure we%26#39;ll be staying in quite a bit too. I will also need ideas for restaurants. A friend of mine recommended Ermilio%26#39;s and I saw some great reviews for Oasis but any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Mostly I am interested in things that are relaxing, romantic and at a slow pace.
I appreciate all your tips!
Need Some Tips
there%26#39;s a nonprofit wildlife refuge for big cats that were unwanted or abused. it%26#39;s called %26#39;turpentine creek exotic wildlife ranch (turpentinecreek.org). it%26#39;s located 7 miles south of eureka on hwy 23. cougars, tigers, leopards, bobcats and lions on a 463 acre ranch. near the Christ of the Ozarks is a section of the Berlin Wall. unfortunately, the Thorn Crown Chapel and the gardens won%26#39;t be open according to their website information. I would guess you could still walk around the chapel. The chapel is closed in Jan and Feb, except for weddings and special occasions. the garden was open from mid-March thru Thanksgiving this year. probably be the same next year. There is another chapel that might be open. However, it%26#39;s about an hour west of Eureka in Bella Vista. It was built by the same architect as ThornCrown. The Mildred B Cooper Memorial Chapel (www.beautifulbellavista.com/chapel.htm). since it%26#39;s a romantic getaway, one other idea would be a massage. There are several places. One is Healing Benefits Massage Therapy Company at 31 Kingshighway. Open year-round. Reflexology and a couples massage room is listed on their site. their web-site is healingbenefits.net If you%26#39;re interested in caves, there%26#39;s a place called Cosmic Caverns located between Eureka and Branson, MO. www.estc.net/cosmiccavern.
Here%26#39;s some sites that might be useful for other ideas:
eurekasprings.org, eureka-net.com, eurekasprings.com, arkansas.com

You might also want to try the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce website, www.eurekaspringschamber.com. Not only does it have a lot of good information, but you can also request a Eureka Springs Visitor Guides from their website.
