Hiking near Eureka Springs

Hi,

I will be staying in Eureka Springs this weekend and I%26#39;m having a difficult time finding out about hiking options. Are there any good hiking trails near Eureka Springs (within 45 minutes)? We are young and athletic so a difficult trail would be fun for us.

Hiking near Eureka Springs

Try Lake Leatherwood. It is only a couple of miles west of Eureka Springs on Hwy 62. They have at least 9 different trails, both valley trails and ridge trails. The valley trails have fewer hills but contain rugged terrain and more creek crossings. The ridge trails follow mountain ridges, are hilly, and take you to the parks extremeties. The Park and Recreation Dept. puts out a map showing the trails and a brief description of each one and approximately how long each hike takes. I know you can get one of the maps in town at the Chamber of Commerce. I hope this helps.
