River District or West Little Rock

We are a family of 4 (kids are 19 %26amp; 14) and unsure where to stay in July. We want to visit Pres. Clinton Library and Rivermarket. I have looked at Comfort Inn Downtown and Holiday Inn Pres. Conf. as far as downtown.

Our 14y.o. is shopaholic so I have also looked at the Holiday Inn Express and Candlewood Suites to the west.

I guess my big question also is if we stay in West Little

Rock is parking a problem when we come downtown? Also any suggestion on hotels we be great!

Parking downtown isn%26#39;t too bad, Not sure of your price range but the Peabody is the nicest hotel right downtown, If your focus is downtown, rivermarket area, consider staying downtown, if it becomes too costly, stay on the west side of town. Embassy Suites in West Little Rock. Driving around downtown on Saturday can be crowded but definitely doable.

Try the Marriott Courtyard downtown.

There%26#39;s NO shopping for your 14 year old downtown, but you%26#39;ll be within 10 minutes of Park Plaza Mall.

You can either stay in downtown and drive to the shopping or stay near the shopping and drive to downtown, I recommend the first. More fun to walk the Rivermarket district. I think the Courtyard Little Rock Downtown, is the best bet for a nice hotel near all the action. If you come on the 4th, they do a Pops performance in the ampitheater on the river. If I was visiting from out of town and know what I know now, that%26#39;s where I would stay, especially since it is only a short 3 block walk to the Clinton Library. Not sure what socializing is like with your kids, but I would consider taking my kids to Sticky Fingers Rock and Roll chicken Shack for some live music, maybe have dinner at Boscos across the street (both next to the Courtyard hotel)or at the flying Burrito, kind of a Chipotle%26#39;s, 2 blocks over. Great coal oven fired pixxas at Vinos, a short drive away from the rivermarket area.

Thanks for the help! We are going with the Comfort Inn Downtown. The restaurant suggestion sound great too! We got hubby a gps system for Father%26#39;s Day so that should be a big help.
