What's fun in Hot Springs?!

I%26#39;m 24 yrs old and my husband and I are going on our first anniversary to Hot Springs. What are some things that we would want to do? We are young, but want to have a nice relaxing trip.

Are there any key places to eat? What do you do during the day?

We are staying at Tinkerbelles B%26amp;B which is supposed to be great, so they will schedule anything for us. I just need some pointers first on what to do for fun. Thanks!

Well, I would recommend some type of spa treatment - at the Arlington or another place recommended by the B%26amp;B. It is fun to walk through the historic bath area, stop at some shops, lunch at McClard%26#39;s BBQ,stop at some shops, piano bar at the Arlington, dinner at Belle Arte or another place that the B%26amp;B suggests.

Outside of town there is Lake recreation, the Mid-America Museum and woodsy walks.

Have a great time!

Magic Springs and Crystal Falls are actually very enjoyable for adults also. If you are outdoorsy people, there is a lot of hiking in the national park and the 2 state parks that surround Hot Springs, being Lake Catherine and Lake Ouachita. You can pick up maps of the area and the state parks at either the downtown visitor center or at the national park visitor center.

The previous suggestions are all great. I second Belle Arti, especially on weekend evenings when the great piano player is there. You might consider the tour of the historic Fordyce Bath House, walking the promenade behind bath house row, Sunday Brunch at the Arlington Hotel, First Friday art walk through the galleries if you are there at that time, check the Hot Springs Film Festival website in case they have a program during your stay, visit Oaklawn Race Track to look it over and try your luck at off track betting or their various gaming machines. Walk one of the several historic residential streets of Hot Springs. Have a great time! ( You might read up on Hot Springs History when Capone and his boys hung out at the illegal wide open gambling clubs).

We love the buffet at Jernigan%26#39;s--deliciious homemade food--it%26#39;s a favorite. They have an assortment of different items each time we%26#39;ve been and always homemade peach and/or apple cobbler. The Original Pancake House is good, and for fast food or a snack, we enjoyed Bailey%26#39;s Dairy Treat. We want to try Doe%26#39;s on the lake and the Sunday Brunch at the Arlington.

We go to the beautiful Garvan Woodland Garden each time we go, and this summer we want to go on The Mountain Valley Water tour, which we missed before, as I believe it is only on Tuesday mornings. And don%26#39;t miss ';the works';. We got ours at the Arlington spa, the Majestic (currently closed, I believe) and this year will try the Buckstaff. We love the shopping and the ';rock'; shops. The Tower has a gorgeous view.

There%26#39;s also a dinner cruise/tour on the lake, which we enjoyed. Be sure and take the self-guided tour of the bathhouse and go into the Arlington to at least see it or visit their soda fountain. We enjoyed seeing the natural springs in the park, and it was a pleasant walk.
