Activities for a 2 year old

We will be traveling to Eureka Springs in July, can anyone tell me what activties they have that a 2 year might enjoy %26amp; how kid friendly are the restraurants and shops? Thanks for the help

Activities for a 2 year old

We spent 8 days there last new years. We absolutely loved the whole place. Unfortunately it is all pretty much geared towards older people. Retired people or just older laid back type people. I don%26#39;t recall anything anywhere for kids. It is antiques, site-seeing, arts %26amp; crafts, history, lots of history. I really don%26#39;t recall any kids%26#39; things. There IS the wild cat sanctuary, your child may enjoy that. Turpentine creek it is called. They take in abandoned or abused cougars, leopards, lions, tigers, lynxes, stuff like that. They even have a few bears. Your child may enjoy that somewhat. We loved it. They even have a nice little gift shop there with some kids things you can buy. Most of the shops have really nice and rare items for sale, if you bring your 2 year old in, I would%26#39;nt let him or her down!! It could prove very expensive!!

Thanks for the input %26amp; help

We have traveled to Eureka Springs 3 times with our daughter and grandaughter when our grandaughter was 12 months, 18months and 24 months old. She enjoyed shopping, riding the trolley, the carriage ride %26amp; a couple of the outdoor attractions one was pivot rock %26amp; I think the other was called the Springs. Most of the restaurants are kid friendly, but if your child is a bit rowdy as most 2 year olds can be, it would be best to avoid the more expensive restaurants. The Little Bread Company %26amp; Cafe Soliel are good choices. Some of the smaller strip mall stores would be a better place to shop with a child in July. The downtown shopping is great but it gets very hot in the summer. Our favorite times of the year to go are April %26amp; October as the weather %26amp; the scenery are beautiful at those times. There is also a pontoon boat that you can ride on Beaver Lake. I%26#39;ve seen young children on this attraction %26amp; they seem to like it alot.

We have been taking our 4 children to E.S. for 11 yrs. and they love it there! We go the week before Christmas and in Aug. Your 2 yr. old will love Dinosuar World. It is out towards the lake off the ';Loop';. It has life-size dinosuars , cavemen and a huge King Kong statue. They have been there since I was a kid and even though they have seen better days, kids just love them!

It is very hot but going to the Train Station and taking the train ride is exciting for the little ones. The train stops in the middle of the ride and everyone gets off while the train turns around and blows steam out to watch. You also get to put coins on the track for the train to run over (another thrill for the kids) and you get to keep your smashed coins.

No matter your Religon, children and adults alike are mezmerized by seeing the Christ Statue. You can stand right below it if you drive up to the Passion Play.

Our kids like the Sonny%26#39;s Pizzaria and the Chuckwagon Cafe in the Historic Dist. You also have a McDonald%26#39;s and Subway above the Hist. Dist. across from Harts Grocery Store. All of the Restrants on the upper level are Kid Friendly.

There are 3 or 4 Shops that you may not want to take a little one in but all the rest are just fine.

One word of advice, Do not take a stroller. You will not be able to roll it easily on the sidewalks and most stores will not let you take it in.

I hope you have a wonderful time!

Just paid attention to the fact that your trip was in 2005! Hope you had a great time!
