Recommendations for what to see/where to eat?

Will be in Little Rock for a week in July for conference. Any recommendations on what to do or see? Where to eat? Where to shop?

Will be located at the military installation for the week. Unsure of area, hopefully we will have rental car. Was at the same, @20 years ago; don%26#39;t remember much except going to dinner at a ';Bayou'; themed restaurant.

Any and all tips are appreciated. I imagine it will be horribly hot and humid at that time too...

Thanks for any suggestions!

Little Rock has four distinct seasons, which means we have hot summers, so plan accordingly! You probably ate at Cajun%26#39;s Wharf on your last trip, which is actually still a good bet for a return visit. July is fun on their deck by the river, with good music and food. Otherwise, suggest you center your attention on the River Market Area on the river in Little Rock, where lots of good dining and entertainment await. You probably will be staying at Camp Robinson/Camp Pike on a hill overlooking the city in North Little Rock. While it is only minutes from nice entertainment areas, public transportation is spotty here and you will need a rental car. If you have a military background, you might want to visit the beautiul historic McArthur Museum of Military History www.arkmilitaryheritage.com in Little Rock and U.S. Razorback submarine and Arkansas Inland Military Museum www.aimm.museum in North Little Rock.

Go to arkansas.com or littlerock.com. You went to Cajuns Warf most likely- still going. And yea- it will be nice and warm! You can shop online @ arkansaswear.com which is part of the Arkansas tourism network of sites.

Assuming you%26#39;ll be at Camp Robinson you%26#39;ll find many new restaurants in North Little Rock from when you were here 20 years ago. Main Street is the location of six restaurants. Two are fine dining and among the best in town, Restaurant Capeo and the Atlantic Seafood Company. Here%26#39;s the North Little Rock Visitors site with many more dining options:

Thank you all for your suggestions! I didn%26#39;t realize there was so much to see/eat! (Then again, I never got around my last visit there). I will research your suggestions plus TA more before I go. Thank you!

Correction to the poster who wrote about the restaurants in Pleasant Ridge Town Center. There is no Red Robin, Camillie%26#39;s, Ben and Jerry%26#39;s. There is Imagine (upscale delicious), Crew Resaurant and Bar (a bit more casual, good food), Bonefish Grill (very good chain seafood), Cheeburger, Cheeburger (chain burgers, fries and shakes). Carino%26#39;s Italian Grill nearby is chain Italian. Our favorites for more upscale (in food and price but not a dress up place) are Brave New Restaurant which overlooks the river, Trios on Cantrell Road in Pavilion in the Park. Ditto on Whole Hog for barbeque and Damgoode Pies for pizza.

The Arkansas Arts Center has some fantastic art collections.

if you have a car, there are 2 comedy clubs in little rock. one is the loony bin - loonybincomedy.com. it is in breckenridge village shopping center. 10301 n. rodney parham rd. the other is funnybone comedy club. 107 e. market st.

oldcpa - do you mean Argenta Seafood Company in NLR? I%26#39;m sorry to say that we ate dinner there a couple of days ago and our food was horrible :( There were four of us, and none will go back.

I%26#39;m always excited about new restaurants, and still look forward to trying the same owners Italian restaurant down the street.

I%26#39;ve also heard the restaurant that replaced Nu is exceptional. Unfortunately we don%26#39;t venture downtown that much at night.
