Best places to eat

We%26#39;ll be visiting Fayetteville area in the spring, and we need to know something about the best local places to eat. We%26#39;re interested in local eateries, not chains, and we%26#39;re looking both for upscale and down home cooking. Please include places in nearby towns, too. Thanks.

Best places to eat

Best places in Fayetteville: Cable Car Pizza off Dickson Street, downtown - try the Purist Pizza; Hugo%26#39;s just off the square - love the Derick%26#39;s Special sandwich; Jim;s Razorback Pizza on West 6th ave; In Springdale or Fayetteville: AQ Chicken - that%26#39;s ';Arkansas Quality.';

Arsaga%26#39;s bakery and coffee shop is GREAT i n F%26#39;ville. La Huerta Mexican food. For really good family style - Monte Ne Inn on HWY 94E, Rogers - get reservations, it%26#39;s not that fancy, just good. In Tontitown: Mary Maestri’s -fancy, Venitian Inn - really good, not fancy; Johnson - Inn at the Mill -fancy.

Best places to eat

When are you visiting? For food and art/antiques, you can%26#39;t go wrong with downtown Fayetteville. Walking Dickson St. and The Square, you will find little places to shop or eat or both that won%26#39;t let you down. You can stay somewhere else and park downtown, easily if there is no event going on at the time. You can walk Block street to or from Dickson to or from the square all within short small town blocks.

Also try www.dicksonstunderground.com for more information.

I don%26#39;t know much about the other areas but I do know that fine dining downtown, I like Bordinos (norhern Italian) and the 36 club (eclectic?). I like down home and down town basement restaurant Hugos on Block street. Inn at the Mill in Johnson is upscale ';Ozark Plateau cuisine'; and has lovely food beautifully presented and receives many critical awards but is not my favorite. What kind of food do you like?

I forgot to mention other favs of mine:

www.greenhousegrill.com

www.pestocafe.com

coffee houses with art-

www.commongroundsar.com

www.arsagas.com

Plus Osegueras for great authentic Mexican food (an Arkansas ';chain'; of 3 restaurants)

Chloes (fine dining), Mermaids (good fish dishes), Flying Burrito for make your own

YUM!

I%26#39;ve lived in Fayettenam for almost 15 years. If you want mexican food, try either La Huerta on 71 bus. Or just before that also on 71B there is Osiguera%26#39;s. (my personal fav)

For Chinese I would reccomend Shang Hai which is also on 71B. They are the only chinese in town that delivers, but at the same time provides all the perks of great home made Chinese quisine.

Italian I would go with the Pesto Cafe.

You might also want to try Hugo%26#39;s.

If you want some good ole%26#39; down-south cooking try Wes%26#39;s BBQ at the corner of Center st. and University.

Tim%26#39;s on the Square in downtown Fayetteville is a great place for people watching and pizza. One side is wood and brick with a pub feel (no smoking) and the other side is much more casual where families and small children settle.

Penguin Ed%26#39;s Bar-B-Q hands down is the best place to eat. There are 3 locations and it is the best food you will ever have at a good price. http://www.penguineds.com/

Try Osegueras In Fayetteville for the best Mexican food in town. The just moved to a new location in the Evelyn Hills shopping center.
