too steep?

My husband and I have never been to Petit Jean, but we have a pop up and would like to camp there. The problem is, we only have a small hardbody truck to pull the camper. Can anyone tell me if the hills are steep getting in and out of the park? We are still pretty new at hauling the pop up. Thanks!

I have never hauled anything up Petit Jean but I have been up the mountain several times when I was a kid. What I remember is one hill going up that winds around a bit that I wouldn%26#39;t say is steep. Maybe you can contact the park and ask what grade the road is going up and give them specifications of your truck and trailer.

I have pulled (well I didn%26#39;t, my husband was driving) a pop-up camper up Petit Jean Mountain several times with a Ford Windstar. There were a couple of tight turns, but I don%26#39;t remember the grades being that steep. Of course I wasn%26#39;t paying that much attention because I was busy looking at the beautiful scenery! Our mini-van is equipped to pull the camper but doesn%26#39;t have enough power for much more than that.

Petit Jean is one of my favorite places in Arkansas to camp. The spaces aren%26#39;t tight (pull throughs) and the rangers are great about keeping the sites quiet. It has always been very clean whenever we have visited. The hiking and picnicing sites are beautiful. When we haven%26#39;t felt like messing with the camper we have used the nice cabins. Try a meal at the lodge, pretty good eats with a fantastic view. Have fun!
