Dec/Jan in Hot Springs

We are looking to do a 3 state tour (Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas) between Christmas and New Year%26#39;s. Southern LA shouldn%26#39;t be a problem weather wise but was wondering what the weather is like in northern Mississippi (Clarksdale/Tupelo) and Hot Springs AR? Anybody spend any time in those places that time of year? Thanks for any help.

Dec/Jan in Hot Springs

Well, in Arkansas the best chance of snow would be in december or january...But It%26#39;s not real likely . Most of the time it it will be in the 30 to 40%26#39;s for the highs..Hot springs is kinda surrounded by small mountains, So if the weather was bad it might be hard to drive... But over all I would think It would just be cold ,, But in Arkansas you never can tell. Where are you staying in hot springs??

Thanks for the input. I don%26#39;t know yet where we%26#39;ll be staying. Any suggestions?

Weel, there is a really good priced hotel on the lake in hot springs that won%26#39;t break your pocket book , hot springs hotels are over priced.. The lake won%26#39;t be as pretty in winter as it would be in summer,,,

You might want to stay at one of the casino%26#39;s in mississippi, they would be fun around christmas time, and during the week some of them offer good prices to stay..They are located in robinsville and tunica...The grans is the nicest and I also like sams town casino..and there is a new one called the resort..

Thanks for your help.

I can%26#39;t think of a worse time of year to visit Hot Springs. The weather will likely be cold, Lake Hamilton will have been drawn down for the winter and the large amusement park. Magic Springs, will be closed.

I hate to advise anyone not to visit Arkansas but I think South Louisiana is a better bet from a weather standpoint.

Try Hot Springs in the spring and summer when things are booming. Also consider a trip to Little Rock. We%26#39;re just an hour up the road and have many historical museums, beautiful restored neighborhoods and the Clinton Library.

You are welcome.....Any more questions , i%26#39;ll be glad to help...

Have you found a place to stay yet while in Hot Springs? I remember a few years ago during my first trip to Hot Springs it was a mild 50 degrees in mid-Dec. I was excited at that temp. since I was traveling from Cleveland Ohio where the temp was well below 30 when I left. Like the other people have mentioned, you just never know what the weather will be like in Dec. and Jan. Consider staying at vacation rentals during your trip. They are much more affordable than hotels or B%26amp;B%26#39;s. If you need more info on that, let me know.
