Our family wants a mountain experience for a vacation, so we thought of the Ozarks. We are looking for a state or nat%26#39;l park with cabins. Any recommendations? Anything near Eureka Springs so we can eat out some of the time?
where to go?
Mount Magazine State Park has a brand new lodge which is very nice. It is also very scenic.
You could also look at the Arkansas Hwy 5 drive between Mountain View to Calico Rock to Mountain Home. Lots of pretty sights, plus Blanchard Springs Caverns, Sylamo Mtn. Bike/Hiking trail.
where to go?
There are cabins about 5 miles out of Eureka right near the beautiful Kings River. Taking the windy Rockhouse Road out of town there is so much scenery. It will take you through the mountains. You will cross over a big bridge (Kings River) at the bottom of a valley and the cabins are on the right. There is also a canoe rental ($30 a canoe) right before the bridge on the left. they will take you up the river and you can enjoy a days float back to camp. Hope this isn%26#39;t too late.
