Nephew is planning a wedding in Eureka this summer. Wondering if anyone has any experiences with places there to have a wedding. Looking for both good and bad experiences so we%26#39;ll know what places to consider and what places to mark off the list!
Wedding Chapels
You might want to try the Veranda Inn they have a great home and a wonderful location. We had our Wedding their and it was just wonderful. You might check there website for more information www.verandahinn.com. There one of Eureka Springs leading Bed %26amp; Breakfast. We stayed there before getting married and fell in love with the place.
Wedding Chapels
I have been to several weddings at the Crescent Hotel. It is a beautiful setting and the weddings were excellent -- great staff and accomodations. The same people own the Basin Park Hotel, but it is not nearly as nice. Basin Park is right downtown, while the Crescent sets on a hilltop with beautiful views. Basin Park is ';touristy'; and loud by virtue of its location and original structure (it is over 100 years old), but you are right in the middle of everything, if you like that. (Note: no public transportaion)
Of course, the Thorncrown Chapel is the place everyone wants, but it books 3 years in advance. (My secretary was married there in November with only a year wait, but she had to take a slot at 8:00 am on a Wednesday morning.) I suspect the Crescent may already be booked for summer, too, but it is worth checking into. Be careful -- I love Eureka Springs, but there are some real dumps there.
You might want to check out the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge (www.turpentinecreek.org), which is just on the edge of Eureka Springs. They have a Bed and Breakfast and feature ';Tree House'; cabins that are unique and quite nice. The people there are lovely and I know they have had weddings there, but I have never been to one. It is a big game preserve, so if you like 100+ tigers (primarily) and lions, it could be fun.
