Stopping half way to Destin

Getting ready to leave for Destin, where%26#39;s the best place/hotel to stop half way. Leaving late afternoon for a early arrival Saturday morning?

What is your starting point? I%26#39;m not clear if you are saying that you are staying in Arkansas? Or if you are starting here...

If you are starting in arkansas, then a good place to stop is between jackson and hattisburg, a town called magee. There is a small hotel called the relax inn. It%26#39;s an older hotel, but it is cheap and it is clean. And it%26#39;s right next door to some fast food restaurants as well near a wal-mart.

And another great way to go to avoid alot of traffic, is to go down 49 ouside of hattisburg to avoid the traffic lights on 98, And it seems faster.. it takes you to I-10 at gulf port...It is a bit farther, but it saves time...

I would not go on 55 all the way to jackson because it is farther, useing 98 from jackson to hattisburg is way shorter..

oops, sorry....it%26#39;s 49 you take to Jackson to Hattiesburg, alot of people use 98 from hattiesburg to mobile, but the traffic is really bad in some areas, and it%26#39;s known by bloody 98 . Because of all the wrecks, so going all the way down on 49 to I-10 is best.
