Planning a trip for early April to Hot Springs

My husband and I are planning a trip to Arkansas late March/early April. We have visited in 2005 but not the Hot Springs area.

1. What hotels are recommended of moderate price?

2. What time is best for foliage in bloom?

3. Great restaurants in the area?

4. Places not to miss in Hot Springs and at the lake area?

Which appreciate any help. Thank you

Where to stay depends on if you want to stay in the historic area, around bath house row, or on the lake...

I know of a older , clean hotel, that sits on the lake, the prices are good for hot springs...

The arlington is nice for historic value, but kinda pricey

And there is the best which I think is the embassy suites.

They are also pricey, but real well ran and nice

everything should be blooming or real close by then, the weather should be perfect...

You might want to check out garvin gardens near hot springs, simply beautiful in the spring

There is a good variety of restaurants in hot springs,

For awesome barbeque try mclard%26#39;s, they are located on 505 Albert Pike Rd,

And for italian try Belle Arti Ristorante, they are located at 719 Central Ave,

The race track also has great ruebens sandwiches, and casino type gameing...I think the races might be over by then,,

And on the lake is the Belle of hotsprings riverboat cruise,

And few miles away from hot springs is the only Diamond mine that you can go and dig for your own diamonds,

It is the crater of diamonds state park.

And there is the mountain tower with it%26#39;s breathtaking 140 mile view...

Hope this helps a bit....

Thanks so much for the advice. One more question, if we decided to stay at cabins, where would you suggest?

Here is a list of some cabins in the area....

And some owner rentals, we have used owner rentals all over the country and always have been happy...great service, really clean...owners go out of the way to make sure that you are happy.

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. When you don%26#39;t know an area, it is really nice to get some helpful advice. Thanks again.
