Looking for a nice locale in Hot Springs to host a family reunion, ideally a high quality resort type location for people from out of town to stay. Any recomendations welcome!

One possibility might be Couchwood, the family compound of Harvey Couch, founder of Arkansas Power and Light. It is a rustic lakeside compound on the order of the old Adirondack estates, with a main house, 4-5 cottages, Couch%26#39;s personal railroad car, and plenty of history and character. It is located on Lake Catherine. The family uses it in the summer and rents it out in the winter. They have no website. Let me know if you want contact information. If your folks like new and more standard places, this may not work. If they like the unusual and historic, it is plenty of both.

The contact for Couchwood is E.C. Dober 501-225-3210. I have not been able to locate a website. This is a very unusual place. I stayed there once and it made a very great impression....very historical. They built a train track to the estate so Franklin Roosevelt could visit there. It is rustic, similar to the Adirondack Camp estates in upstate New York.
