Help-
I am taking my family of five and brother in law and family to Fairfield Bay Resorts thru and RCI trade. We are traveling over July 4th week and I have no clue what is available for entertainment for 4 adults and 5 children ranging from 9-16 years of age.
Fairfield Bay Resort
Fairfield bay is located on the north shore of greers ferry lake, The lake is a 50 mile long lake, with 343 miles of shoreline, the areas main attraction is the lake, So the main thing to do is fishing, boating, scuba diving, sailing and all kinds of fun in the sun. You can rent ski boats and skis, party barges, wave-runners, boat slips and party barges at the marinas. The Greers Ferry Lake Dam was President Kennedy%26#39;s last public dedication, which is commemorated in nearby Heber Springs by the John F. Kennedy Memorial Overlook. And you can visit the
the William Carl Garner Visitors Center and Trout Hatchery make for favorite day trips for visitors to the area. ';World-Class Fishing'; is fact, not hype. We can back it up with three world-record game fish. Greers Ferry Lake holds world records for Walleye (22 lb 11oz) and Hybrid Striped Bass (27 lb 5 oz). The Little Red River tail water, which feeds into Greers Ferry Lake, holds the current world-record for German Brown Trout (40 lb 4 oz.
And if you like to golf ,Fairfield Bay is a golfer%26#39;s dream come true. There are several championship golf courses in the area including, Indian Hills, Mountain Ranch, and Tannenbaum Golf Resort at nearby Drasco.
And a quick day trip to little rock to visit the President Clinton museum and the river market would Be a good choice, There are several art gallerys and some good places to eat, I really like the under ground pub, they have some great pub style food likes fish and chips, and hamburgers that are really good.
And the sticky fingers chicken shack is a unique place to eat with some really good chicken. ANd they have bands in the evenings on some days/.
But in fairfield bay the main things are all of the above, It is really just a place to relax and enjoy the natural things in life that we are graced with. And have a round of golf....
Fairfield Bay Resort
We are headed to Fairfield Bay on Sunday. My husband loves to dive but a dive vacation wasn%26#39;t in the budget this year. I can%26#39;t seem to locate any dive shops for this area. Anyone have any suggestions?
Also, we would like to take a day trip to Hot Springs since it%26#39;s been so many years from our last visit. Any ideas on how long it will take to get there?
What is the river market mentioned earlier in Little Rock? Also, does it operate on certain days?
One last question. Can you recommend somewhere reasonable for renting a boat and jet skis? The resort seems to be really high on their rentals.
Thanks for any info.
