Blossom Festival?

Wondering if it%26#39;s worth the trip to go to the Magnolia festival with hubby and two girls ages 10 and 11. How are the B%26amp;Bs there? We would be traveling from Oklahoma City.

I%26#39;m not sure about the B%26amp;B%26#39;s, but there is a brand new Holiday Inn Express in Magnolia.

Peabody House B&B - Romantic retreat

My husband and I just returned from Eureka Springs ... our first trip.

We loved it! Great music and artsy town. Historical and lots of shopping. We were very forntunate to stay at the Peabody House.

Romantic, convenient to downtown areas but still private. I loved this place. We could sit out on our balcony and listen to the music wafting through the air from the Basin Hotel. This is a well maintained and beautifully appointed bed and breakfast. Don%26#39;t expect the regular B%26amp;B. You are not asked to eat breakfast with total strangers... instead you have delicious pastries delivered to your room and juice/coffee/sodas are inside your room. This lovely historic home is for those couples looking for a romantic secluded retreat. Look for mid-week specials on their web-site.

Hot Springs is wet, Mountain View is dry. The wet/dry laws apply to the sell of alcoholic beverages not the possesion or consumption.

Is there any place to golf in this area? Also does anyone know anything about Anglers White river or Jacks resort? We are considering staying at one of these two places and would like some input.

The white river resort looks like a nice place to stay %26lt; i have heard the food is simply wonderful. And the Anglers loft looks like a really nice room..

Jack%26#39;s has the best Catfish in the area and rivials any place in the state. It is owned by long time friends of ours (www.edsrock.com)

As far as golf, the best place to play is a little further up the road in Mountain Home (plus a great scenic drive) at Big Creek Golf (http://www.bigcreekgolf.com). It was given 5 out of 5 Stars by Golf Digest in 2004 %26amp; 2006. Many of our guest have enjoyed playing there.

Also, the fishing is going to be a little better this time of year if you go up river from Mountain View (which is actually not on the White River). Calico Rock, Norfork and up around the dams (Norfork and Bull Shoals) will be a little better in the hotter weather. We have links to fishing reports from area guides that are updated weekly on our site.

Motorcycle Trip Sept-Oct

My husband and I will be traveling to Arkansas Sept or Oct 2006 by bike. We will likely visit Eureka Springs, Fort Smith and Hot Springs. Any advise concerning motels would be helpful. We like to stay where we can pull the bike up to or close to the room, dining close by so we can walk not ride the bike, and a chair or two outside the motel to sit and watch to world go by. Any other info on scenic roads and such would be appreciated!

The 1876 Inn is a good one in Eureka Springs. They offer discount for motorcyclists. Good luck!

Try the Talimena scenic drive near Mena. The lodge at Queen Wilhelmena State Park is nice. It is really beautiful in the fall.

I would like to recommend the Coach House Inn in Eureka Springs. We just returned yesterday (June 19) from a trip into Arkansas. We left Tulsa on Friday and rode the Talimena Drive and onto Hot Springs for the first night. Ran into a bit of rain, actually a lot of rain on Saturday during our trip up Scenic 7 to Harrison and on into Eureka Springs. We stayed at the Coach House on Sat. eve. and stayed over on Sunday since the rain was supposed to persist (which it did not). This is a small motel(about 18 rooms) that you can pull your bike right up to and it is located off the street. Your bikes will not be visible from the street. You can walk easily to dining and shopping. All the rooms have a balcony that overlooks the main drag into downtown Eureka. I have stayed in a lot of motels in E.S. and this is my favorite by a long shot. Free breakfast, not just rolls and coffee. If you would like more info about the area, please email me direct. We stayed at the Iron Horse Stables outside of Eureka Springs a couple of years ago. It was an old motor court motel that had been remodeled %26amp; is biker friendly. We had a good time there. The restaurant had a bygolly good breakfast %26amp; very reasonble. If you like pancakes, don%26#39;t get a stack or a short stack, one pancake fills the entire plate! It was not the Hilton, but it was clean, had plenty of hot water %26amp; you park your bikes right outside your room. Labor Day Vactation in Arkansas

We are planning a trip for the week of Labor Day to Arkansas. We know we want to go to Hot Springs and then up to the Ozarks. Possible Eureka Springs or Mountain View. We live in the panhandle of Texas so there will be a lot of driving. We are looking for cabins or resorts to stay on the river that we could possibly walk out the door and do some trout fishing. We would like to find a place that is laid back, quiet and romantic but not too far from restaurants. Any suggestions on places to stay and ';must sees'; would be great.

You might want to check into the State Parks. Mt. Magazine is north of Hot Springs, I%26#39;ll actually be staying there later this month, just before your visit. It%26#39;s a new ';resort'; park that%26#39;s supposed to be very nice.

Eureka Springs is a neat area to visit, lots of romantic cabins. Cherokee Mountain is good and a break from the Victorian look that dominates the majority of architecture there; it%26#39;s about a 5 minute drive to town from there. Going about 5 minutes west of Eureka is Katie Willow. It looks not too hot from the outside but inside they%26#39;re truly beautiful. Very secluded and peaceful. Also the Comfort Inn is nice, try the Jacuzzi suites for a larger, more romance inspiring room. It%26#39;s located in the middle of town, so it%26#39;s more central to things to do. There%26#39;s not much in the way of fishing unless you want to stay at Beeaver Lake. The Beaver Lake cottages are nice but book up very quickly.

Mountain View is a smaller town, with less emphasis on tourism. Lots of great little restaurants on the town square. Hotels will be mostly smaller versions of the big chains.

PS. I%26#39;m from Northeast arkansas and travel to that side of the state fairly frequently. It%26#39;s worth the drive!

I%26#39;m not sure what part of Beaver Lake you are staying at, but I believe near Prairie Creek Campground, there is a place to rent jet ski%26#39;s and boats. Prairie Creek is near Rogers, AR. It%26#39;s a great campground if you are looking to camp. It%26#39;s also nice for just a day%26#39;s visit. Beaver is our favorite!
