Need a safe area for my kids 24, 21, 16 to stop for the night. Somewhere on 440 or 40 east of Little Rock so they won%26#39;t have to fight traffic in the morning - they%26#39;re heading further east. We%26#39;re looking at La Quinta Inn Little Rock Otter Creek, La Quinta Inn Little Rock Medical Center Area, La Quinta Inn North Little Rock - Landers Road, La Quinta Inn Little Rock at Rodney Parham Road.
Other suggestions? Under $75 and SAFE Thanks
Safe Motel on 440 or 40Of the hotels on your list, I would tend to consider the Rodney Parham location. It is actually on Breckenridge Drive off Rodney Parham. I think the kids will feel comfortable in the area. There is a movie theater near the hotel and plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood. It is an older property, a former Baymont Inn and unlike the Med Center LaQuinta which has outside balcony access, you go inside past the desk to get to your room...which some people consider more secure. I checked Wingate Inn, Hampton and a couple others in West Little Rock with interior access and found them all to exceed your 75.00 limit.
Safe Motel on 440 or 40I agree with the advice jimjade3 has given you. You do realize that the Rodney Parham is off I-430 not 440? In my opinion 430 is the better route, it%26#39;s a little longer but not significantly so.
stay away from the one in otter creek. The one in north little rock is a nice hotel. It is close to many restaurants and is fairly easy to get to the highway. west little rock is safe, but a bit out of the way. I guess it depends on if they want to be past Little rock before they stop. The traffic on 40 around the interchange is bad because of road construction. If they stayed at the one on mccain they could avoid the bad construction area by getting back on 40 by useing the directions I give here.
1: Start out going EAST on E MCCAIN BLVD toward LANDERS RD. 0.2 miles
2: Turn RIGHT onto SPRINGHILL DR. 0.6 miles
3: End at 3101 Springhill Dr
North Little Rock, AR 72117-2912, US
it%26#39;s the address for the cracker barrel , but you can get on the freeway going toward memphis on 40 right next to it.
I just thought it might get them ahead of the morning rush hour traffic that they would run into at any of the other locations. They will pass a pep boys on their right as they turn at the light at springhill dr. going straight down til they see the cracker barrel restaurant, signs for the freeway will guide them in the right direction. it is really easy. and will save time.
Agree with Fordarama that the North Little Rock LaQuinta would be an okay location also, as well as the Rodney Parham location. However, the North Little Rock LaQuinta is a typical exterior access motel with doors off exterior balconies which some consider a little less safe, though I have no figures to support it. This location is also a little out of the way, having to go off I-40, up 67/167 a short distance. ';Rush'; hours in Little Rock do not equate to the serious traffic as you find in many metropolitan locations though the one stretch of I-40 between I-430 and I-30 might be avoided due to construction. If you stay in West Little Rock at the Rodney Parham location, and are headed to Memphis, you might consider taking I-630 East in the City instead of I-40. Hope your kids have a great trip.
Try the LaQuinta at McCain Mall (on Warden Rd.). It is one of 2 LaQ%26#39;s near the intersection of US 67 %26amp; McCain and, unlike the one on Landers Road, interior corridors. The LaQ on Landers is fine (a friend stayed there last weekend) but the interior corridors do provide a margin of safety. Either should be around $69 before tax.
I didn%26#39;t know that there were two la quinta%26#39;s by mcmcain.. So that%26#39;s why they say warden road on their web site... I was confused on that one..Thanks for the good info..
