I am thinking of relocating to the Fayetteville, Bentonville area and heard about the wild fires that are taking place. Are wildfires typical for that area? How often does this happen? Would appreciate a reply from anyone in the area. Thanks.
Northwest Arkansas and wildfires
No more often than anywhere else. Many parts of the midwest have had a particularly dry last few years, which has contributed to the problem. However, the bigger problem is idiot people who don%26#39;t pay attention to burn bans, and that has nothing to do with geography.
Natural disasters are a fact of life, no matter where you go. Given the track record of the two over the last year, I%26#39;d pick Arkansas over Louisiana. :)
