Love to see fall color in Arkansas. If I go the 4th week of Oct, where will be my best bet? I will drive from Houston. Where to stay? Which route would be the best? Thanks%26gt;%26gt;
Fall Foliage help,please!!
The Ozarks will be the best bet at that point. To mointor some of the changing conditions read nature photographer Tim Ernst%26#39;s journal at www.cloudland.net - he post what he sees in the Buffalo River National Forest Area.
One of my favorite drives is on Hwy 5 out of Cabot - north of Little Rock. The section between Mountain View to Calico Rock to Mountain Home is very nice with lots of rivers, streams, and lakes along the way. All three of towns offer a unique look at the Ozarks as well.
There are several hotels and lodges/cabins for rent throughout the area. Try www.vrbo.com for some of the places in the area.

Hopefully the colors will be here by then. We are having unseasonably warm weather. They are trying to come but haven%26#39;t made it yet. Should be pretty good by then though. I highly recommend taking Hwy 7 from around Russellville through the Ozark National Forest up to Harrison and then over to Eureka Springs on Hwy 62. This an absolutely beautiful area. Eureka Springs has many different types of lodging from secluded cabins to quaint B%26amp;Bs to standard hotels/motels. You are sure to find something perfect for you. Enjoy your trip.
