A few of us are headed to Eureka Springs for Labor Day weekend to celebrate a wedding that%26#39;s happening their that weekend. Most of the wedding party is staying on Beaver Lake, but the wedding is in ES and the reception is at the Crescent. Where would you recommend that we stay? There will be 2 couples, and we%26#39;d like something private, separate bedrooms, the freedom to come-and-go at all hours, the ability to relax. I%26#39;ve considered both lakeside cottages and in-town accomodations, but I don%26#39;t know the area -- at all. Any information would be MUCH appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

There are literally dozens of Bed and Breakfasts in Eureka Springs. I have stayed at the Candlestick Cottage Inn and liked it, but i haven%26#39;t heard anyone say they stayed at a b%26amp;b in ES and didn%26#39;t like it. You will need to make reservations NOW, if there are any still left. Labor Day weekend is one of the busiest tourist times in Eureka Springs. Have fun!

I found the following site to be helpful when I was planning my trip to NW Arkansas: www.eurekasprings.org. Due to logistics, we ended up choosing inns not right on the lake or in Eureka Springs. But while doing research, 2 B%26amp;B%26#39;s in town caught my eye: Brownstone Inn and the Inn at Rose Hall. They seemed like they might be more private than some of the others. For the ultimate privacy tho%26#39; you may want to choose a cabin, but then you won%26#39;t have the convenience of being close to the reception. Personally, I wouldn%26#39;t really wouldn%26#39;t want to be faced with driving out of town after hrs of drinking, eating and celebrating!
I would recommend staying at this fantastic B%26amp;B on the historic loop. Its called the Veranda Inn (www.theverandainn.com). The host are incredible, the breakfast is the best and the house is amazing. It is very close to several good restaurants and directly across from the entrance to the Cresent Hotel. You could walk from the B%26amp;B to the reception. The house has 5 rooms each with their own bath and is come and go as you please. My husband and I stay here very often and we keep coming back if the house if full then we reschedule. I promise this is by far the best place in ES to stay you won%26#39;t be dissappointed...Check it out.
The best restaurant in Eureka Springs is Gaskin%26#39;s Cabin Steakhouse. It is about 5 miles from town on Hwy 23N. It has the best food and has the most wonderful atmosphere. It was an old log cabin that they have spruced up.....very romantic and GREAT food! The best rib-eye in Eureka. You will not be disappointed. If you have a large wedding party it is best to call ahead but normally they do not take reservations...first come, first serve....but waiting in there new bar area is delightful.
CLIFF COTTAGE INN is the only B%26amp;B right in the heart of Eureka%26#39;s Historic Downtown. They have 6 houses -- 3 of the houses have two private entrance suites each so you could have the whole house to yourselves and still have your own privacy, own jacuzzi, etc. You can walk to everything and the trolley is right below them to get to the Crescent. A few weeks ago, we and my sister and brother-in-law stayed in their Cliff Cottage (built in 1880). It has two connecting suites with fabulous views of downtown, a private deck in the back with fountain and a miniature railroad the owner has built on the cliff. Their elf delivers a fabulous French full-gourmet breakfast on a silvertray to each suite -- the innkeeper learned to cook in France and has been guest chef on a CBS-TV cooking show.
When you arrive, you%26#39;ll find complimentary Champagne or white wine in your fridge. They%26#39;ve thought of everything and it%26#39;s the most attention to detail we%26#39;ve ever experienced in a lodging establishment. For over a year, they%26#39;ve been Trip Advisor%26#39;s #1 Most Popular B%26amp;B in Eureka, based on guests reviews. Book now, tho. www.cliffcottage.com
If rooms are available I would suggest just staying at the Crescent. It is a wonderful experience, and you don%26#39;t have to worry about driving after the reception.
