Safe to walk around near Holiday Inn-DWTN/PRES CONF CTR

Will be staying overnight with my wife and wanted to know if that particular area is somewhat safe to go walking around (early evening) with my wife.

Am a priority club member, but thinking maybe I should be staying at a better hotel (based on tripadvisor reviews) for the night.

It would only be for 1 evening anyhow..

That hotel is OK, but not my favorite. Downtown is really booming now, but you have to be careful which neighborhoods you are in. They change from street to street. I would stay in the convention center area or the rivermarket area and feel perfectly safe.

I agree with the above post. I think (even for one night) I%26#39;d stay at the Peabody, the Doubletree or the new Marriott Residence Inn by the Clinton Library.

Susan is dead on. The Marriott is by far the closest to the Clinton Center. Walks from all three she mentioned would be safe and pleasant to the CC.

Stay somewhere else, not known as a nice hotel at all and is facing the busy interstate. You would not want to walk around from this hotels. Follow everyone else%26#39;s advice and stay somewhere else. We have some great hotels that you can walk to the Rivermarket district and library from.
