Is this a safe area?

We will be stopping overnight on our way out west and I have tentatively booked the Comfort Suites on Frontier Dr. in North Little Rock. Is this a safe area?

Is this a safe area?

I don%26#39;t think it should be a problem staying there, It really isn%26#39;t a bad area, the hotel gets mixed reviews, but for a quick overnight stay , it should be ok...

Is this a safe area?

Thanks for the help.

Hot Springs Village

We are planning a week long trip to visit Hot Springs, The crystal mines, and the crater of diamonds. I ran across alot of rentals in the Hot Springs Village area which look nice enough in the photos. We don%26#39;t mind the extra drive we would have staying this far north and it%26#39;s pretty appealing to have a home base with a washer/dryer after digging in the mines. Does anyone have any recent experience with renting a place in the village? Does anyone know anything about the Desoto Games area? The places we are looking at are being offered by century21.

Thanks for the help!

  • Little Rock

I am going to be visiting Arkanssa and plan to stay in the Little Rock area. I am looking for any insider information of things to do and see on day trips. I would appreciate any insight, including if I would be better to go elsewhere.

    Little Rock

    What do YOU enjoy doing?

    Little Rock

I enjoy sightseeing, scenery and anything unique for a local area. I will drive for good local food.

Stay at a hotel on Markham /President Clinton, There are three good hotels on this street, The Doubletree, the Peabody and the Courtyard. Visit the Clinton Presidential Library and consider the Historic Arkansas Museaum and the Old State House Museum. All these are in or close to the RiverMarket which is a restaurant and entertainment district. All of these are within easy walking distance and are in a very safe area.

Thank you and especially for the safe area. I do worry when traveling and not knowing an area that I might stumble into a bad location.

    Magtown needs a new facelift!!!!!!!

Well I%26#39;m very familiar with Magnolia because I%26#39;m from there. I moved away 5 years ago. But I do go back to visit because my family is there. Really and truly it needs a facelift , their is really nothing to do around there especially for the kids. They really need to bring more business in and more jobs. Also they need like a YMCA or a BallyFitness center.Every time I go back home the neighborhoods look really run down now. It is time to cleanup!!!!!!!! The Blossom Fest its ok , but not worth to drive that far for me.(6 in half hours) NO.

    Magtown needs a new facelift!!!!!!!

Magnolia has a new fitness center, plus we are about to build a new hospital. Add 2 new restaurants, plus our library is about to expand. The SAU campus is absolutely beautiful. More jobs are coming thanks to something in the works. Our Blossom Festival has been featured 2 times now on the Food network. Magnolia is optimistic and ready for growth. Yes, houses do age, and the population is shifting to another side of town, but we have 3 blossoming subdivisions that are absolutely gorgeous.

Since you are from here, please talk us up! =) Growth just takes money.

Downtown Hotel for Couple With Infant?

Hi! We%26#39;re looking to go to Eureka Springs later this summer, probably mid July. We%26#39;ve heard all about the traffic and parking and we%26#39;d like to stay downtown so that we don%26#39;t have to drive too much. Can anyone recommend a place that would be friendly for a couple and our 5 month old son? Thanks!

Downtown Hotel for Couple With Infant?

    The Elmwood House is right downtown and has a 1st floor suite that you may like ';Annies Suite';

Storybook Places has the Shangri-la cottage on spring st

    http://www.eureka-usa.com/storybook/

parking right out in front of your cottage and a short stroll to all the dt shops

As far as hotels right dt there are The Basin Park Hotel %26amp; New Orleans Hotel

Hope that helps a lil bit let us know if you need more help or have more q%26#39;s

Downtown Hotel for Couple With Infant?

I just returned from ES on Sunday, I stayed at the Border House. It has 3 seperate apartments/rooms, each with it%26#39;s own door. We rented the whole house, there are 2 rooms that are downstairs that would be just what you need, they have kitchen %26amp; a frig in each room. The room on the bottom right has a small hotub in the bathroom.

As far as location it is on Armstong street which just 1 street off downtown. All you have to do is walk down a flight of stairs and you are there. Parking at the Border House is for house guest only.

I have stayed at the New Orleans Hotel but it has been a while. It still gets good reviews. It is a handsome historic hotel right on the main street downtown but laid back as well. They usually have a lazy cat or dog hanging out in the lobby. The owners say they would welcome your family.

River District or West Little Rock

We are a family of 4 (kids are 19 %26amp; 14) and unsure where to stay in July. We want to visit Pres. Clinton Library and Rivermarket. I have looked at Comfort Inn Downtown and Holiday Inn Pres. Conf. as far as downtown.

Our 14y.o. is shopaholic so I have also looked at the Holiday Inn Express and Candlewood Suites to the west.

I guess my big question also is if we stay in West Little

Rock is parking a problem when we come downtown? Also any suggestion on hotels we be great!

    Thanks!

River District or West Little Rock

Parking downtown isn%26#39;t too bad, Not sure of your price range but the Peabody is the nicest hotel right downtown, If your focus is downtown, rivermarket area, consider staying downtown, if it becomes too costly, stay on the west side of town. Embassy Suites in West Little Rock. Driving around downtown on Saturday can be crowded but definitely doable.

River District or West Little Rock

    Try the Marriott Courtyard downtown.

There%26#39;s NO shopping for your 14 year old downtown, but you%26#39;ll be within 10 minutes of Park Plaza Mall.

You can either stay in downtown and drive to the shopping or stay near the shopping and drive to downtown, I recommend the first. More fun to walk the Rivermarket district. I think the Courtyard Little Rock Downtown, is the best bet for a nice hotel near all the action. If you come on the 4th, they do a Pops performance in the ampitheater on the river. If I was visiting from out of town and know what I know now, that%26#39;s where I would stay, especially since it is only a short 3 block walk to the Clinton Library. Not sure what socializing is like with your kids, but I would consider taking my kids to Sticky Fingers Rock and Roll chicken Shack for some live music, maybe have dinner at Boscos across the street (both next to the Courtyard hotel)or at the flying Burrito, kind of a Chipotle%26#39;s, 2 blocks over. Great coal oven fired pixxas at Vinos, a short drive away from the rivermarket area.

Thanks for the help! We are going with the Comfort Inn Downtown. The restaurant suggestion sound great too! We got hubby a gps system for Father%26#39;s Day so that should be a big help.

Thanks again for the great help!!!

  • 3 Couples headed to Eureka Springs for Labor Day

    Hello Everyone-

This is probably my first topic starter, but I need some help.

I have 3 married couples that are wanting to go to Eureka Springs for Labor Day. (August 31 - Sep. 2). We are newlyweds, in our twenties, and not rich, but we are wanting to find a fun place. I%26#39;ve been looking for larger cabins that accommodate all of us, but that seems to be a stretch.

I like the tree houses but they are all booked.

We would like to stay close to downtown so everything is within walking distance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

3 Couples headed to Eureka Springs for Labor Day

I am sure there may be cottages out there that would accomodate a larger group one that comes to mind is Winterwood Lakeside Cottage however it is NOT in the dt area

Someone is another post suggested the Border House-which may be a route you would want to consider it has 3 suites-so each couple could have their own suite yet you could all still be together-they also have an outdoor hot tub.

Here are a few more places with 3 suites-so you and your group would be the only ones there...

The Elmwood House,The Benton Place Inn

The Carriage House would sleep you all and has the following amenities

    The Carriage House

    Amenities include:

A hayloft bedroom with a queen bed

    Fully equipped kitchen

    Pool table and pinball machine

Gas fireplace, hot tub on private patio

Two twin beds and a double futon couch

Two bathrooms, a clawfoot bathtub and a shower for two.

T.v., steroe(with records), and VCR and DVD

    http://www.carriagehs.com/rooms.html

Sweet Seasons has a cottage The Little Chateau that sleeps 8

    http://www.sweetseasons.com/lchateau.htm

They also have some townhouses that you may want to check out-that way everyone has a bit more space but yet you are all still together

You said the treehouses are all booked have you seen the Woods Trehouses and Resort

Hope you have a GREAT time let us know if you have more q%26#39;s
