Visiting the end of June.

Would like info on the best place to camp and hike. Very secluded, lake side with lots of hiking trails, horse back riding would be a plus. Love to get into nature. Please if anyone can help i would greatly apprecate it.

Thank You

Not sure of the length and difficulty of hikes you are looking for. The Hot Springs National Park has some nice hiking trails such as Gulpha Gorge. While they are scenic, they are not what I%26#39;d call isolated. They are within the city limits of Hot Springs. You can find more at http://www.nps.gov/hosp/

If you are looking for more serious hiking you might look on Amazon for one of two publications by Tim Ernst - Arkansas Hiking Trails or Ouachita Trail Guide.

You could also contact any of the several SW Arkansas Ouachita National Forest Ranger Districts such as Jessieville 501-984-5313 or Caddo 870-356-4186.

The Lake Ouachita area has great camping, horseback riding, water sports etc. There are walking/hiking trails, but I have the feeling that they might not be as much of a challenge as you might hope. Be aware that summer in Arkansas in the woods would be prime time for snakes and ticks. Be prepared for that.

The Little Missouri River and Buffalo River areas might have more challening hikes, but no lake front. Some falls and swimming holes that are pretty sweet, though.
