Camping

I would like to know of some good campgrounds near magic springs theme park that is close to nature, away from highways and well kept. Also what other attractions should we do in the spring.

Camping

If you will call 1-800-natural and request a vacation package it will include a campground booklet of all the rustic and non-overly commercial campgrounds in the state with a good bit of detail. Lake Ouchita State Park is a one possibility. Arkansas is a great place for canoeing, and spring is the best season. If you make this call, be sure they include a %26#39;floaters kit%26#39; which is really great help for deciding which of the beautiful streams to float.

Camping

There is a beautiful campground about 15-20 miles west of Hot Springs on Hwy 270. It%26#39;s Charlton Campground and it%26#39;s probably the most beautiful, rustic, clean campground anywhere near Hot Springs. It%26#39;s a must see, must stay destination if you like to camp!

cool do you have a website for that?

Can%26#39;t seem to find a website on Charlton. Do a google search for Charlton Campground and there are a few reviews of the trails around it. Directions... take Hwy 270 West out of Hot Springs and go approximately 15-20 miles and you%26#39;ll see it on your right, about a mile after you pass Burl%26#39;s Smokehouse. Burl%26#39;s is also a wonderful place to pick up homemade bread, smoked meats, jellys, etc. to add the perfect touch to any camping trip!! Good Luck!
