travel lodge

Our family is taking our first trip to ES over Memorial Day weekend. Has anyone stayed at the Travel Lodge? Also how close is it to the Passion Play? Any suggestions for other family things to do or see or place to eat will be appreciated!!

The Mud Street Cafe is wonderful for breakfast. My favorite place for dinner is Ermilios, but get there early because they have limited seating and it fills up FAST. Dinner at the Crescent is overrated - really bland for what you pay. DeVito%26#39;s is okay, but I will never understand how people think their ';Italian'; is better than Ermilios.

For lodging, I don%26#39;t know about the Travel Lodge, but I have stayed at the Comfort Inn on Hwy. 62 and it was really nice, quiet and clean. They have a beautiful garden behind the main hotel. Try to stay in the back building if you can.

I%26#39;m not familiar with the Travel Lodge but nothing is very far away from anything in Eureka Springs. You will love the area! The botannical garden is probably gorgeous this time of year and that%26#39;s a nice way to spend an afternoon. I think it%26#39;s call the Blue Springs Garden now....any of the locals can tell you how to get there.

Mud Street Cafe is GREAT for breakfast...and a typically unique Eureka atmosphere! Emilio%26#39;s is the BEST in Eureka Springs...and the other poster is right...get there early for less of a wait. But the truth is, we%26#39;ve never had a wait more than an hour, and its great to sit out on the porches, so the wait is pleasant enough - and trust me, it is WELL WORTH the wait!! Local Flavor, a little restaurant downtown is very good for lunch and dinner. Cafe Soleil, on Hwy 62 is delish as well. Actually, I can%26#39;t think of any place I would tell you to avoid in terms of dining in Eureka Springs. There are TONS of great restaurants to be had!

Enjoy your trip there!

Make your reservations now because Memorial Day is the season kick off weekend in Eureka Springs. I live here %26amp; own the Harvest House Bed %26amp; Breakfast. Travel Lodge is okay. I suggest the Comfort Inn for a few more dollars with jacuzzi suites and free continental breakfast. The trolley has a flat fee for all day riders; it runs to the Passion Play, too. You can transfer to any of 5 trolley lines and hop on and off without struggling to park or walking far. Rosalie%26#39;s is a B%26amp;B with a tour. The Historical Museum downtown has a short movie on the history, many photos and informed docents. The Crescent Hotel has a fabulous Sunday brunch or great lunch other days. You can see the top of the town from this restored hotel. There%26#39;s so much to see and do, you may plan another trip in the temperate fall and see the wonderful colors.
