Little Rock Locals' Restaurant Favorites???

I will be in Little Rock, AR for the weekend at the end of September. Any recommendations for good eats -- more specifically in the downtown area, if possible -- for less than $16 per person? I follow the belief of going where the locals go, so fire away guys! Thanks!

Most people like Whole Hog Cafe, 2516 Cantrell Rd (Near Office Depot). These are a bunch of businessmen who for a hobby started entering barbeque contests and started winning them all. They decided to open up a little cafe as another hobby and it has tripled in size. It%26#39;s quiet at night but packed at lunch. Don%26#39;t wear a white shirt.

Flying Fish are both good and with in your price range if you can splurge Sonny Williams Steakroom and Brave New Resturant are wonderful. I hope ya%26#39;ll enjoy your trip!

So where did you end up eating and which place did you like the best. I am going to LR at xmas and plan to go to the Clinton library, and would like to eat great dry BBQ somewhere.

Also hear Trio restaurant is good for more upscale dining.

first of all welcome to arkansas, second in the river market next to the museum there is a little place called the under ground pub, if you go kind of early before the crown gets there, you can eat a really good meal for a great price

Did anyone really answer Eric%26#39;s question? I%26#39;m no barbeque expert but I would say that Little Rock has always been a decent %26#39;wet%26#39; barbeque town and Memphis has had some fine %26#39;dry%26#39; barbeque for many years. Does anyone know of really great dry barbeque in LR?

To my knowledge, there is no dry rub barbeque in Little Rock. When Shug%26#39;s went under, so did the dry rub. Special occasion restaurants near the Clinton Library are Sonny Williams, Nu, the Peabody Hotel restaurant (Carpaccio%26#39;s ?), and Vermillion Water Grille.
