Comfort Suites Little Rock

Hi all -- I%26#39;ve been reading recent threads about the Clinton LIbrary, Riverfest, restaurants etc. and am a bit worried about our reservations this weekend at the Comfort Inn %26amp; Suites off I30 near the Clinton Library. I know there%26#39;s no restaurant, but it will accept our small dog. None of the ';downtown'; hotels you recommend take pets, or sem to be already booked. Are we going to be safe at the Comfort?

This is a nine story building which was renovated and taken over by Comfort about two years ago. I called a friend at the Convention Bureau here to inquire further... a co-worker answered and said they often recommend Comfort to those who call looking for a moderately priced hotel close to the Clinton Center. They know of no incidents which have occurred there, say that it has been renovated and said they would not hesitate to recommend it. I have only been there briefly for a meeting, and while it may not be quite as upscale as the Peabody or Marriott, my personal advice is to go ahead and stick with your plans. I would be a little careful walking in the area directly adjacent to the hotel. It is in transition and a bit bleak. However, just a few blocks the other way in the River Market/Clinton Center area you will find beautiful renovated areas which you will love. I think you and your doggy will enjoy yourselves! Walk over from the Clinton Center through the River Market area to the Historic Arkansas Museum at second and Cumberland then a few more blocks to the Old State House Museum. This latter beautiful Greek Revival former State Capitol was where Clinton first announced and then where he made his two acceptance speeches. Don%26#39;t miss the Clinton Center Store which is a separate storefront a few blocks from the Library itself. There are lots of fun things to buy in there. It is run by Connie Fails, a talented clothing designer who designed Mrs. Clinton%26#39;s first innaugural outfit. Check out the neat art gallery at Markham and Cumberland, and eat any any of the fun spots in the market area. The Market itself is a food court with lots of ethnic and delicious cafes. Have a great time!

I agree with every single thing jimjade said!

thanks, local expert, for setting our minds at ease! It%26#39;s been quite a few years since we%26#39;ve visited the area and we really weren%26#39;t sure what to expect. I%26#39;m sure we%26#39;ll have a great weekend.
