avoid the Park Hotel

There is NO reason to go to the Park Hotel in Hot Springs! Would make a great set for a scary Steven King movie, or the set for a police sting TV show--perfect seedy place for the bad guys to be renting cheap.

This place nearly ruined my first trip to Hot Springs. Truly run down and awful! I would rate this place a -10.

We made a reservation at the park hotel for the weekend before July 4th 2006. Please, if you are reading this, the above post is no exaggeration. We got to our room and were shocked at what we saw. It really did look like the setting of a scary movie! Aside from even that, it was not clean and had black hair on the sheets. The bathroom was hideous and the carpet stained with torn bedspreads. We saw no air-conditioning control inside the room. We didn%26#39;t even sit our luggage down. We paid $100 for the room and went right back down the elevator and asked for refund. The lady at the desk was so embarressed she referred us to the Embassy Suites located next to the convention center. We drove straight there, paid $135 for the room and could not have been more satisfied. Don%26#39;t let the Park Hotel put a bad taste in your mouth for Hot Springs, Arkansas. It%26#39;s a pretty little town with a quaint setting that is loaded with history. Take the advice and avoid the Park Hotel.
