Do you know anything about murphreesboro?

I live in Hot Springs

Murfeesboro is about 45 mins to an hour drive from Hot Springs. Crater of Diamonds State Park is located there where you can go dig for actual diamonds and I can give you the toll free number to the state park, other than that, I don%26#39;t have a whole lot of info on it. If its Hot Springs related, I have tons of info. We try to keep our information on surrounding areas updated, but the main attraction there is the state park so that is all we have.

That is where i am wanting to go.I was looking for info on hotels and /or condos in area.I am suuposed to be sent some info from the visitors center i asked for on internet but it has not arrived yet.If it is only 1 hour drive then i just may stay in hot springs if there is more to do there. Thanks for the info.Joann

A lot of people will stay here in Hot Springs and drive to Murfreesboro for the day because its so close. If you need some more information sent to you you can email me your information and we can get it out quicker that way. Sometimes it takes a little longer when you order the info online. my email is jmeggers@hotsprings.org.

Hi Jenni!

My husband and I are planning a trip to Norphlet, Arkansas the first week in June. On our return trip back we plan to stop in Hot Springs National Park. We both love the outdoors and would like to know what would be the best to see on a one-day stopover. Also, where would a nice, clean place to stay.

Thanks!

Jenni I got my package today.Thank You so much.i started rummaging thru it already.will let you know when im coming to town. Joann

Fronnie,

Sorry my reply is a couple days behind, I was out sick! But in answering your question, there are many, many things you can do on a one day trip. You can spend the day in our downtown historic district, which is also where National Park, part of Hot Springs lies. There is shopping, restaurants, art galleries, plus hiking in the national park, walking along Bathhouse Row, there are 3 display springs you can go look that are behind bathhouse row, 2 mountain drives you can do, each drive takes about 20 minutes up and down, not counting time you take to stop and get out adn look and there are also beautiful spots to stop and picnic. If you don%26#39;t mind traveling outside of the downtown area, about 9 miles from downtown you can go visit Garvan Woodland Gardens, especially beautiful this time of year. This is a botanical garden that is open year round, or you could travel about 7 miles south of downtown to the Lake Hamilton area. Here there are boat rentals, several ';on the water'; restaurants, and beautiful scenery.

As far as nice, inexpensive places to stay, I would trek outside of the downtown area, as the downtown hotels tend to be a little bit pricier and book up faster. South of downtown, in that 7 miles between there and Lake Hamilton, there are a ton of very nice, mostly chain properties like Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn and Country Inn %26amp; Suites properties. I hope I have answered all your questions but if I can be of any more help please let me know!

Hi Jenni!

My mom and I have always talked about coming to Hot Springs and treating ourselves for a day. So, for Mother%26#39;s Day I want to surprise her with a trip to Hot Springs for pampering at the bathhouse.

Of course, I don%26#39;t want it to get too expensive. Can you help me with this? We would arrive on Friday and leave Sunday. Prob need to do the bathhouse stuff on Saturday. I just want her to be able to relax and enjoy herself. She deserves it!!

THANKS!

Hi, Jenni. My fiance and I will be in Hot Springs July 6-8. We would like to stay in one of the Kottages at the KOA campground. Can you tell us anything about it? Is it worth it or should we get a hotel room? We also want to get married 7/7/07 and need a couple of JP%26#39;s we can call. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Marsha

My daughter and I and a friend and her daughter want to go diamond hunting at the crater, so in the process of looking for hotels and stuff to do nearby, I noticed that Murphreesboro isn%26#39;t that far from Hot Springs, and that Hot Springs has an amusement park. We would like to visit that and the Hot Springs National Park -- you say there are actual springs to view? Also, if we were to drive down on spring break, what would the temperatures be like? You say the botanical gardens are beautiful in spring, but we will be traveling from Michigan where the temperatures will be cooler -- I just wonder how much? One reason is there%26#39;s a water park at the Crater of Diamonds, but wouldn%26#39;t it be too cold and not even be open that early? Supposedly, the best diamond digging is in the spring. But I%26#39;ll wait till after school%26#39;s out so the girls can go to the water park if it%26#39;s really cold there on spring break! When is Easter this year, anyway? Any info you can provide on the above would be appreciated.
